In case of such corrupted save only solution is to load save that was made before Spring Cleaning (or stuff like it) was ever installed, or to remove it for good and start the new game.Īnother possible reason for crashes are AI path finding problems, those were a scourge of Bethesda games for a long time, Fallout3 suffered greatly from this issue. In some cases game seems to be unable to resolve pathing problem and on certain conditions (probably some internal pathing stack overflow) game just CTD immediately. Since my mod forces NPCs to do a lot of pathing, that problem becomes amplified, and it causes CTD sometimes, when no notable conflicts or any other reasons are present. To make matters worse, it had been found that SC edited data still persists within the save even after the master mod removal, so deinstall will not help. In attempt to mitigate cell reset bug SC author made some nasty edits, what cause the rain of compatibility and CTD trouble. Some mods edit Cells in particuarly bad way, one particularly notable example is Spring Cleaning mod. Sometimes moving WOTC in the load order to near to start or near the end of list helps, but that is not the general case. Another possibility is to take a close look at your load order and try to eliminate some other mods that edit cells, those include lighting and fog mods, new interior mods, settlement mods etc. Remove them one by one until you find the sucker that cause problems. The only real way to resolve such kind of conflict is to use FO4Edit to resolve all those by hand, and as you may guess that may be impossible to do if many cells are conflicting (entire game region for example). This general problem is well known and was extensively discussed at the forums (for example, here ) Any present Cell edit conflict ensures gamma of consequences you are surely familiar with, namely: screw up of precomputed visibility (previs), precombined meshes, Cell resets, container resets, spring bug and ultimately - CTDs in some cases. Normally it's just a simple case of winning override which mod's record will be used, that is not the case with Cell editing, since game used special flags/timestamps to determine one that should be loaded. Since master load orders from which Cells are copied are different from one author to another, game ends up with many different versions of the same cell, if several mods edit any particular game cell. Main reason is simple - you can not place anything into the worldspace without attaching copy of parent cell to the ESP file. I don't know if people are aware but currently where are problems with compatibility between all mods that edit Cells and those can not be addressed by any form of merged patch or anything like that, only Bethesda can fix that. Unofficial Fallout 4 patch has been confirmed to cause crashes and is incompatible with this mod! System overtaxing/fallout 4 engine memory leak.ĥ. Navmesh/AI path finding problems of the game engine.Ĥ. Saves corrupted by some other Cell editing mods (including settlement mods).ģ. Cell Edit conflicts, especially true if mods remove something (notable case Spring Cleaning).Ģ. Although the list below is by no means complete, it covers most common scenarios:ġ. Since mod authors face CTD reports from users frequently i decided to place some notes about possible reasons and fixes for game CTDs.

This allows for cloud storage and file syncing capabilities so you can reliably access your files wherever you are, even on your mobile device. The service allows you to store up to 5GB of data and works seamlessly with Gmail. Previously called Google Docs, Google Drive is your online space for storing files safely, accessing them from any device and sharing them via web links and emails. The only drawback is that their free option is limited to only 2GB of online storage space. DropBox is a powerful option for sharing multiple files, working in teams and for ongoing collaboration. Dropboxĭropbox provides more flexibility than the first two options, because it is a cloud based storage drive that syncs files between everyone who has access to the shared Dropbox folder. Take a look at Transfer Big Files if you have a lot of data to send and you have a fast Internet connection to do so. The free account does have some limitations and it is ad supported. Need to send a file that is over 2GB? Transfer Big Files lives up to it’s name by allowing anyone to send files that are up to 20GB in size and can be download up to five times at no cost. It is just that easy! WeTransfer’s simplicity and beautifully designed UI makes it my top pick for sending large files. Upload your file(s), add one to twenty recipient email addresses, type in your email address so you are notified when the file is downloaded and add an optional message. No account is required and the steps to send files are very simple. I love using WeTransfer to send files between 10MB to 2GB, because of how easy they make it. Now that your files are ready to be for transferred, here are five easy ways to send and share large files with anyone over the Internet: 1. For reference, it will take about fifteen minutes to transfer 100MB of data at a speed of 1 Mbps. Try using to test your Internet connection and see the rate of your upload speed. The faster your upload speed, the sooner your file will transfer from your computer to the online server and be transfered to your recipients. Typically Internet service providers give you hefty download speeds and lousy upload speeds. Lastly, you will need an Internet connection that has a fast upload speed. Second, check the size of the file. This will help determine which service to use and how long it will take to upload. Preparing Your Filesīefore sending your files you will want to prepare them for transfer. First, if you are sending more than one file, it is best to zip them all together so that the transfer process is simplified. Don’t sweat it! You have many online options for sending files larger than 25MB, which is the largest file size most email service providers will accept without the message bouncing back. The clock is ticking and there is no way to physically transfer the large file on a drive or disk. Here is a common scenario I find among a lot of individuals and teams, you have a file that is 500MB in size and it is too big to send to anyone over email. Spacelords is due to launch on August 23rd. Ha ha what? Mate, it'd be fine to say "We thought Spacelords was snappier and kinda funny." Spacelords comes to embrace all of them -Raiders and Antagonists- under one umbrella." So, the new brand is not going to change the game lore at all, quite the contrary. "But this is about the Aleph, a mythical substance from the Broken Planet, a substance everybody wants -the Raiders, the Antagonists, each of the invading human factions.- All of them know that whoever controls the Aleph, will dominate the universe as the ultimate Spacelord. Beyond that, dunno really.īut why Spacelords, of all names? "We felt that 'Raiders' only focused on one specific side of the battle for the Broken Planet: The Raiders," Álvarez starts. The devs promise "exclusive and unique content" for people who have bought campaigns pre-F2P, and keep them unlocked too of course. The FAQ says they will sell optional instant access to specific campaigns, rather than having to complete a campaign to unlock the next. The full extent of how MercurySteam plan to make money off Spacelords is still unclear. MercurySteam did briefly give all the campaigns away for free in May, but evidently that didn't produce enough of a long-term boost to keep the old model going. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 22, 2017, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in November 2020. "We've answered our community and hope this removal of any payment barriers will build our devoted community further." Spacelords (previously known as Raiders of the Broken Planet) is an online free-to-play action-adventure video game developed and published by Spanish studio MercurySteam. "Our vision is to see our game enjoyed by millions of users for years to come and putting all of the game's rich content into their hands for free is the way to realise it," director Álvarez said in today's announcement. I hear it's, like, okay? But playercounts are low, peaking at barely over a hundred concurrent players in the past 30 days, which puts a multiplayer game in a death spiral of bad matchmaking. A fifth player can join as the 'Antagonist', see, a big nastie who has come to wreck you in the name of "a dark space demon." And it does support solo play too. Raiders Of The Broken planet is a cooperative-focused cover shooter with different classes romping through missions shooting and bashing faces, and occasionally going up against another player. Game director Enric Álvarez says they hoped this "would open it up to a large number of users, but it didn't work as we planned." And so, F2P. Since its 2017 launch, Raiders has run under a shareware-ish model of giving the starter campaign away free then charging a tenner for each extra campaign (three so far). MercurySteam's four-player cooperative (and sometimes 4v1) shoot-o-brawler Raiders Of The Broken Planet will relaunch as fully free-to-play in August under the new name of Spacelords, the Spanish studio announced today. Interestingly, the game booklet lists a 2MB SVGA adapter (which I had) under the recommended specs. In fact, I would consider the "Recommended" machine configuration listed above (provided by Hasbro) to be a complete joke. Why this wouldn't run properly on my old video card (an S3 with 2MB EDO - yes, it was old) is beyond me, but it seems to me that this type of machine, sans high-end video acceleration, should be exactly the type of machine the game needs to run with. The interesting thing is that when I tried the game later after installing a 16MB Voodoo Banshee 2D/3D card, the animations played much better. Granted, the machine in question is not particularly fast by today's standards, but it should be fairly obvious that the type of person this game would appeal to is not necessarily going to have a high-end PII optimised for 3D-shooters and flight sims. I originally played the game with a friend (who had graciously agreed to try one run-through of the game in hot-seat mode) and we decided after about two minutes that the only way we would ever be able to last through the game would be to turn all the game animations off. In fact, a P200MMX with 64MB RAM and a 16X CD-ROM doesn't come anywhere close to running them at an acceptable framerate. However, the animations can be extremely slow. In addition, there are animations or cartoons for each of the spaces on which one can land, and some of them are even mildly amusing. Hasbro Interactive have tried to spice the game up visually by giving you a first-person perspective as you travel across the board. Obviously, this can become a bit tedious, and the fact that - unlike the boardgame - you don't even have to pick up and move your piece or count the spaces means that you are really not much more than a spectator once you hit the "spinner" button. "Playing" the game simply requires hitting the button that says "spinner," and watching what happens next. The game can be played with up to six players, with any combination of humans and computer opponents (exception: no computer opponents are available for network play). Some people might consider this a questionable goal in light of the fact that it might encourage children to be more materialistic, but I would suggest that these people lighten up. Players will either collect or pay money on each space, or they will collect a "LIFE tile." LIFE tiles consist of cards with random dollar values that the player reveals only upon traversing the entire game board and "retiring." The object of the game is not to be the one to traverse the board first (or even last - you don't win if you live the longest!) but to have the most money after everyone has finished (retired). Landing on a given space causes some "life-related" event to occur, such as having to pay taxes, or going on vacation, or some such. Gameplay consists of advancing across the board, which is divided into a number of spaces. If I really wanted to play a game of this sort (again, as a child), I would be far more inclined to play the boardgame and interact with the other players directly and move the pieces myself rather than focus on the computer screen. If I were a child and old enough to play a game of this sort, there would probably be far more interesting things for me to do on the computer than play The Game of LIFE. For this reason, I'm not sure how useful a computer version of this game is. As a result, this is a game that children will play with their friends or that the whole family will play together. Consequently, everyone has about an equal chance of winning any given playing. Thus, players don't get punished for making bad decisions: they simply get punished for bad luck. You simply spin the spinner and move as many spaces as it tells you. The Game of LIFE is an excellent children's game because there are a minimal number of decisions to make during play. Hasbro Interactive are releasing quite a few of their boardgame titles on computer (such as the aforementioned Sorry! as well as Axis & Allies), and as a result we're now able to play The Game of LIFE without having to clean off the dining room table. Of course, this is 1998, so it seems almost natural that a version would be released for the computer. While the fact was that the only thing you might learn was a bizarre caricature of life according to stereotypes formed during the 1950's, The Game of LIFE was certainly one of the children's/family games that most people of my generation will remember having played on at least a few occasions, along with such games as Sorry! and Clue. "You can learn about life when you play The Game of LIFE!" Many (American) readers will instantly recognize this catchy television jingle of some twenty years ago promoting the old boardgame by this name. If you have no display and a blinking power light (that doesn’t match any codes you can look up), then you know a few things from this.įirst, you know that the device is receiving power. Not all monitors have blink codes, and even when they do, not all problems can be self-identified and reported using those codes. What if the power button is blinking but isn’t throwing a specific code? If a code identifies your problem, then the path to resolution will be that much easier. They can identify circuitry errors, signal problems, and any number of other issues. If you turn off your computer but leave your monitor on, you’ll probably see blinking, and that’s what it is trying to tell you. The most common code is going to tell you that there is no detected video signal. In order to understand the specific blink code, you’ll need to look it up for your make and model of monitor, but before you do, there are a few themes that can help you understand the code. If that light is blinking, it’s definitely telling you something. With monitors, the light that usually blinks is the power light, which is usually somewhere close to the power button for the monitor. It’s pretty common on modern electronic devices to use blink codes to signal when problems are detected. It’s best to look that up directly.Įverything below will be a bit more general. If other lights are blinking, that’s going to be extremely specific to the model and brand of the monitor. In order to keep this all focused, let’s look at the power indicator light and a flashing backlight separately. The entire backlight system for the monitor might blink or flash, and that’s an entirely different issue.Īdditionally, monitors can have other lights, and any of them can blink too. Most manufacturers use blink codes to help identify problems (more on this in a bit), and those codes are often found via the power indicator light.īut that’s not the only light that can blink. If it’s blinking, that could tell you a lot of things. Most monitors have a power indicator light. What Does a Blinking Monitor Light Mean? (3 Meanings)īefore it’s possible to break down diagnostics and repair options, it’s necessary to clarify a few things.Ī “blinking monitor light” can actually refer to a few different lights in a computer setup. So if you want to learn all about fixing a blinking monitor light, then this article is for you. In order to do that, you can test the monitor, cables, and any adapters with a computer you know is working to try to root it out. The goal is to isolate the root of the problem and then make your repairs based on that isolation. Here’s how to fix a blinking monitor light:įixing a blinking monitor light can involve a lot of different possibilities and steps. Now, watch him sweat through his shirt like a maniac and get engine oil all over his shoes. The man is also a master accessoriser: chuck in a £6,390 Omega Seamaster Watch, a pair of £2k Tom Ford sunglasses and some decent cufflinks (you can get a pair of matching Omegas for the low, low price of £360) and only then is the look complete. A pair of black leather brogues from Tommy F is going to set Bond back around £1,100 - he simply will not wear a standard trainer or flip-flop while on duty. Multiply this by two.īut wait: there’s more! Bond cannot and should not be barefoot or gallivanting around in his stockinged feet - he needs a shoe, preferably two. 007 famously wears Tom Ford’s threads, and the average price of a three-piece is around £3,500. Let’s face it: there’s absolutely zero chance he’s wearing these things more than once - have you ever seen him at the laundrette? I rest my case. Money maketh the man. He learned the importance of snappy dressing from the dearly departed Vesper Lynd, according to Daniel Craig-era Bond films which rebooted the franchise with an adaptation of the first Ian Fleming novel, Casino Royale, in which we meet a yet-to-be-licensed-to-kill, pretty green spy.īond will always need at least one high-end three-piece suit on an average mission, but should probably have another in reserve just in case he gets shot/stabbed/spills his Martini. Or at least, that’s what he tells the Accounts department. Does Bond really need to spend thousands of pounds on a designer suit? Would a £65 two-piece from Moss Bros not do the job just as well? Apparently not: the kind of criminal enterprises Bond has to infiltrate can apparently sniff out a cheapskate by an inferior pocket square alone. The most hotly debated regular expense at MI6 headquarters, I’m sure. WARDROBE James Bond is required to be dapper ergo his wardrobe costs a fortune. You can practically guarantee he’d claim he “doesn’t know” how MI6’s expenses system works, and he stuffs all of his receipts, unordered, in a big fat envelope which he leaves on Moneypenny‘s desk with a Post-It note that just says ‘Cheers x’ with a little drawing of a gun barrel on it. One thing is for sure: Bond 100% does not file his own expense reports. So, we’ve broken Bond’s expense reports down into multiple categories across an average mission: we’re categorising the aspects of spyhood that come at a necessary cost, providing 007 keeps the receipts. Saving the world doesn’t come cheap, but surely, surely, in our age of austerity, some corners can be cut? Bond? Are you even listening? (Fun pitch for an alternate universe Bond ‘What If?’ scenario: a fiscally responsible Bond who has to pay for bullets out of his own pocket - I think you’d find there will be far fewer villains dying ironic deaths if 007 was responsible for underwriting all the ammo). Bond’s tech budget is pretty much carte blanche: guns and gadgets are part of the gig, not an added extra. If there’s a megalomaniac threatening to explode a warhead on a tropical island, 007 has to be on the next plane to that island paradise pronto - you can hardly stick him on an EasyJet and have him change at Cardiff. Some financial aspects of Bond’s continued existence are unavoidable. Exactly what would 007’s expense report look like? They can’t keep giving him free cars and three-piece suits if all he’s going to do is riddle them with bullet holes. The question we’re all here to answer today as the latest Bond adventure No Time To Die hits screens is this: who does James Bond’s expenses? And does he have an upper limit? Do the poor, overworked accounting team at MI6 ever have to draw the line somewhere? Surely even they must have guidelines, rules that can bend but not break. If he didn’t keep saving the world, you’d probably kind of hate him. He’s got the lot: dapper clobber, the latest tech, the sexiest wheels and even a specific and annoying way of preparing his favourite cocktail. We’ll wager he’s never once had his credit card declined (minus M putting a stop on it as she did in Quantum of Solace) or had to phone his mum to transfer some money to his account to make rent. James Bond - silky smooth lothario, bedder of women, foiler of villains, driver and smasher-upper of fast cars - has always exuded a monied appearance. Can I borrow a fiver?” Not words you’re ever likely to hear coming from the world’s greatest super-spy, right? (Although he does borrow a few million from Felix in Casino Royale). |
